David OKeeffe
David O’Keeffe had the privilege of being associated with Lacy Suiter for the past thirteen years. Mr. O’Keeffe is chief executive officer of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security. He is responsible for overseeing the Center’s programs for senior government, private sector, and military leaders. His career includes creating and reengineering organizations and programs in both the public and private sectors. During the 1990s, he worked for FEMA in the Director’s Office of Policy and Regional Operations where he focused on developing agency strategic vision, improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and reengineering disaster operations. He was a member of several national emergency response teams. Mr. O’Keeffe holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Williams College and a master’s in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
